Thank you to the over 200 guests who joined us on November 14, 2015, who enjoyed great food, live musical entertainment, a youth-led special performance, quality auction items, and touching words from our program participants. Zakia and Sabrina shared their moving story with us about how a life-threatening diagnosis at birth presented various challenges to Zakia and her newborn baby, Sabrina. All of a sudden, Zakia was divorced and unemployed all while being left with the incredible responsibility to care for her medically fragile child. With a favorable turn of events, Zakia and Sabrina were able to move into the Ragan Oaks housing community where they were introduced to services provided by FACETS. We are fortunate to help families like Zakia’s and provide the proper supports they need such as citizenship assistance, resources to obtain financial assistance, educational support and a safe and loving community of advocates all ready to empower them to break the cycle of poverty in their homes.
FACETS’ reach to our neighbors in need is not possible without the tremendous outpouring of support from the community. Because of you, Zakia and Sabrina are now safe, supported and most importantly, empowered. Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do to support this community and open doors for people in need. We look forward to seeing you in April at our Opening Doors Benefit Breakfast where you will hear from more program participants who benefit directly from your overwhelming support.
The incredible food and drinks made this event even more enjoyable!
