FACETS is proud to once again have been selected as a beneficiary of Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Program. This program raises awareness of homelessness in the DC metropolitan area and provides critical resources for nonprofits that work to help individuals and families who are homeless in our community. Since 1988, this program has raised $85 million through mini-walks throughout the region and the annual Help the Homeless Walkathon.
Our goal is to have at least 700 people walk in support of FACETS this year. If we reach that goal, in addition to registration fees (less $5 per person), we’ll qualify for an incentive award of $10,000 from Fannie Mae. We are well on our way with about 200 people participating in mini-walks for FACETS. Please rally family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, teammates, and others you know to help us reach our participation goal and walk in support of the thousands of people FACETS serves each year. Register for the Help the Homeless Walkathon

National Mall, check-in/registration between 12th and 14th Streets, NW, Washington, DC
Register online or on-site. To register online, go to www.helpthehomelessdc.org and choose Register to Walk. Choose the pre-registration option and select FACETS (listed as 2011 FACETS – VA015) as the Beneficiary Organization and then click on Go; you can then choose to register as an Individual Walker. You can also choose to register as a team and might consider challenging another group or organization to see who can have the highest number of participants.
Be a virtual walker
If you’re unable to join us on November 19th, you can still participate as a virtual walker. Go to www.helpthehomelessdc.org and choose Register to Walk. Choose the pre-registration option and select FACETS (listed as 2011 FACETS – VA015) as the Beneficiary Organization and then click on Go; you can then choose to register as a Virtual Walker and complete the registration process. Registrations must be completed by 5 PM on Friday, November 18th.
Make a donation
Many of FACETS’ clients are willing to volunteer their time and walk with our supporters to help raise awareness of homelessness but may not have the funds to pay the registration fee. Your donation will ensure they can participate, too, and will help FACETS meet its goal for the number of registered walkers.
