Writing the Next Chapter
Our Annual Opening Doors Benefit Breakfast on April 14, 2016 was an absolute success. Nearly 500 community members were in attendance to support individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Fairfax County.
We heard from Leroy, Fatima and James—all who stood proud and shared how their next chapter is much brighter, because of the support from our generous community.
Because of Leroy’s determination to work hard and pull himself out of addiction, he is now safely housed and has the necessary support to ensure his ongoing sobriety and success. Now with a fulfilling job, Leroy has secured economic stability
Fatima is striving to become a Certified Nurse Assistant for the Labor and Delivery Unit at the top hospital in the region. She serves as a model of achievement in her community and shares the skills and experiences she had as a young girl to empower disadvantaged girls in her community.
James is now stably housed and earning higher wages as a Pharmacy Technician to support his family. James’ next chapter is filled with pages of success, happiness and stability for him and his teenage sons.
Leroy, Fatima, and James were honored to have an opportunity to open the pages of their biographies and share with you the real impact community members like you have on people battling the effects of poverty and homelessness. Each year FACETS has the ability to positively impact thousands because of our strong backing of support— together we can help people find the rest of their story, their worth and their value.
