Mission, Vision, and Values
MISSION: FACETS opens doors by helping parents, their children, and individuals who suffer the effects of poverty in Fairfax County.
VISION: FACETS envisions a day when everyone in Fairfax County has access to adequate and affordable housing and nobody is homeless. We seek to engage and educate our community in providing long-term solutions and resources to break the cycle of poverty for our neighbors in need.

A Proud History
In 1988, FACETS (Fairfax Area Christian Emergency Transition Services) was established by Linda D. Wimpey and other volunteers from local faith communities to provide meals to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Fairfax County, Virginia.
From our beginnings as an outreach ministry, FACETS has evolved into one of the county’s largest social and human services nonprofits. Today, we are a non-denominational organization working with more than 35 faith communities and several thousand volunteers. We work collaboratively with private and public organizations in a countywide effort to expand safe and affordable housing and address all “facets” of hunger, homelessness, and poverty.
