FACETS relies on donations to continue providing essential services to those experiencing hunger, homelessness, and poverty in our region. We partner with dozens of faith communities and local organizations, as well as Fairfax County. If you are 73 or older and required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, you can use it to make a lasting impact — completely tax-free. You can also make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA instead of withdrawing your RMD, paying taxes, and donating what’s left. A direct contribution ensures your entire gift helps people experiencing homelessness and poverty rebuild their lives.

Make a meaningful impact with a gift of stock. Donating appreciated stock, mutual funds, or bonds to FACETS is not only a smart investment in promoting stability, empowerment, and hope – it may also provide valuable tax advantages.

Step 1: Contact your broker to initiate the transfer and provide them with the following information.

Step 2: Notify FACETS of your contribution to ensure your gift is properly received. Email our team at development@facetscares.org. Please include your name, contact information, name of stock, and number of shares.

Once your gift is received, FACETS will confirm receipt with you directly.

You can continue to make a positive impact in your community by making a legacy gift in your will, via real estate, or with annuities/endowments. FACETS is honored to celebrate your legacy of kindness and generosity through such gifts. To arrange a gift in your will, please contact the Development Team at development@facetscares.org.

You can give in honor of a friend or loved one by naming them when you make your gift. If desired, you can provide an address so the designee of your contribution or their family can be notified of your generous gift. Many employers match employees’ charitable donations in order to encourage charitable giving. If your employer has such a program, you can double or even triple the size of your gift to FACETS.
