Education & Community Development

FACETS Education and Community Development program aims to break the cycle of poverty using an intergenerational approach to addressing the needs of children and adults in the community. The program operates out of three community centers in public housing apartment complexes to give those residents the support they need to succeed.

At these centers, our Community Advocates offer many of the same services our trained case managers provide, connecting residents with critical resources and services and providing basic needs. Our centers distribute culturally appropriate fresh food and groceries to residents on a monthly basis, as well diapers to families with young children. We also offer youth programming five days/week year-round, both after school and during the summer, with computers and a printer available to residents at no charge.

Our Education & Community Development (ECD) Program provides enrichment programs and case management services to residents at three centers and one mobile center:

  • Ragan Oaks, next to Fair Oaks Mall
  • Barros Circle, in Centreville
  • Wedgewood, in Annandale
  • One mobile community center (The Robinson Community Center opening April 2024)
