FACETS Spring 2023 Newsletter

Dear FACETS Family,

As we mark 35 years of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, FACETS has launched the Changing Lives Campaign to meet the growing need in our community.

The lack of affordable housing, the rising cost of living, and the end of pandemic-era assistance, has created the perfect storm for our most vulnerable neighbors.

We are seeing more and more people at our Hot Meals and grocery distributions, with numbers reaching levels we saw during the height of the pandemic. Many of these neighbors are coming from our Hypothermia Prevention & Shelter Program, which ended recently on April 1st. In the weeks leading up to the end of our Hypo season, we saw a jump in the number of guests. Sadly, we are seeing the greatest increase among individuals 60 years and older and families with children.

With the end of Hypo season, our staff have amped up their street and medical outreach efforts, including visiting tent encampments and other places not meant for human habitation. Phone calls are pouring into our Next Steps Family Shelter and we are placing families with children in hotels and motels to accommodate the great need. You can learn more about what FACETS’ programs are doing to meet this growing need in our Spring 2023 Newsletter by clicking here!

The Changing Lives Campaign is a continuation of FACETS long legacy of meeting children, families, and individuals at risk of hunger, homelessness, and poverty exactly where they are. Over the past 35 years, FACETS has grown and adapted every step of the way to bring our neighbors the services they need to transform their own lives.

Your gifts at any level help us expand our programs so that we may do the most good for the most people. Your donations also provide funds to meet the immediate emergency needs of our neighbors that may otherwise by a tipping point for crisis.

How your dollars make a difference:

  • $100 provides 20 meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity
  • $500 covers the cost of rental application and fees
  • $1,000 helps a family avoid eviction
  • $5,000 covers a year’s fuel and operation for a FACETS van – helping people move to new homes, supporting food and diaper distributions, and supporting clients with limited transportation options
  • $10,000 keeps a family housed for six months as they work to get back on their feet

Make a donation today to directly aid our neighbors in need!
