The Team Lead for Education and Community Development Centers provides leadership and oversight to the Education and Community Development (ECD) Team. This team runs three community centers and provides mobile services to a fourth community.  The Team Lead reports to the Director of Community Development and provides overall supervision and direction for four Community Development Advocates who make up the ECD Team.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Team Lead for Education and Community Development Centers is responsible for the smooth and effective delivery of community-based services and programs for Wedgewood, The Robinson, Ragan Oaks, and Barros Circle by supervising case management and developing and evaluating programs and services for children and adults. The Team Lead also represents ECD at agency events, county meetings. partner meetings, and community events. The Team Lead is responsible for turning in all necessary reports and documents for county reporting requirements in a timely manner.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Community Development Advocates working in community centers to provide programming, case management and leadership development so residents are able to meet short-term needs and enhance self-sufficiency in the long-term.
  • Ensures community case management services are provided in locations served by ECD staff, assisting staff in case analysis to implement appropriate interventions and to identify suitable referrals.
  • Develops and fosters working relationships with county agencies and other service providers to improve service delivery and build a base for referrals.
  • Evaluates programs and assists with the development of new services to enhance the resources available to residents of the neighborhoods served.
  • Prepares for new community center opening at The Robinson in summer 2024: ensures clear communication between the county and residents; develops work plan; hires staff; organizes materials for new center.
  • Covers for Community Development Advocates when absent from work, including providing direct services to residents.
  • Performs site visits with staff, including visits to residents’ homes, work sites and/or programs as needed.
  • Provides weekly supervision to staff and documents staff performance through yearly evaluations and more often as needed.
  • Plans and participates in training for team development.
  • Collaborates with Volunteer Manager to ensure all sites have appropriate support.
  • Manages accurate records for ECD program (virtual and paper).
  • Develops and tracks budgets for all ECD sites, in collaboration with the Director of Community Development. Ensures Community Development Advocates follow organization procedures for credit cards and vouchers.
  • Works with Community Development Advocates to track and report participant outcomes for monthly NIP Reports, yearly work plan, and other reports required by funders or needed by Executive Director and Board of Directors. Ensures timely submission of all necessary reports and documents.
  • Supports the Communications Team by providing stories and photos that demonstrate the impact of the ECD Centers and enhance statistical data.
  • Provides support in the grant-writing process for funding of programs.
  • Participates and assists with all seasonal/holiday drives and fundraising events.
  • Conducts presentations on ECD programs and needs to the general public.
  • Participates in staff meetings to share ideas and plans; works cooperatively with other teams to meet FACETS goals.
  • Represents FACETS in the community, in accord with Agency Mission, Vision, and Code of Ethics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field; Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience providing case management services and two years’ program management, including providing direct supervision of program staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required; strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and an independent and creative worker.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Arabic), a plus.
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance
  • Ability to drive a 15 passenger van
  • Must pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks
