LOCATION: In-Person, Alexandria and Fairfax, Virginia
FACETS offers prevention and diversion services to people without homes and at risk of homelessness. Our Eviction Prevention Team works with Fairfax County court-involved households at risk of eviction and facing legal action. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the mobilization of a pilot program that offers parallel support for these clients and shepherds them through legal process at Fairfax County’s landlord tenant court by providing free counsel through the grant funded program to increase access to legal representation. In collaboration with Legal Services of Northern Virginia. And Coordinated Services and Planning, the Administrator is responsible for onsite court outreach and coordination between clients and pro bono lawyers.
This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach at the Fairfax County courthouse each Friday and as needed to identify residents at or below 80% of the Area Median Income who have been served with an unlawful detainer in Fairfax County’s Civil District Court.
- Engage residents by phone and in person to explain the assistance available and the purpose of the pilot programs process for providing pro bono services.
- Establish relationships with volunteer and pro bono lawyers to elicit their cooperation in the pilot programs process.
- Effectively communicate with Fairfax County staff responsible for the program to resolve difficulties or address unique circumstances.
- Keep detailed records and submit reports of program activity and outreach, meeting established program goals.
- Work cooperatively with all FACETS staff to meet FACETS goals; participate in agency and program staff meetings to share ideas and program updates.
- Represent FACETS in the community, in accord with Agency Mission, Vision, and Code of Ethics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work daytime hours Mon-Friday and occasional evenings and weekends. (Administrator must be available each Friday during the Landlord Tenant dockets at Fairfax County’s Civil District court.)
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, government, law or related field or comparable work/volunteer experience.
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail and time management skills. Must be able to track cases, client/lawyer assignments and follow-up as needed in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of processing of voucher payments and accounting practices or willingness to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels within and outside of the agency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- An energetic, dynamic and engaging personality with a strong work ethic and service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Must pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to attend occasional meetings at other FACETS office locations within Fairfax County, including 3 annual organization-wide fundraising events each year.
Salary Range:
$45,000 – $50,000 annually.
