For the week of Sunday, Feb. 03 – Saturday Feb. 09, 2019:

HYPOTHERMIA PREVENTION
SHELTER PROGRAM (Green)
Will be hosted daily from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am at

Westwood Baptist Church
8200 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA, 22152

Van pick-ups to Westwood Baptist Church will occur in the evenings at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm in the Lamb Center parking lot located at 3160 Campbell Drive. The Lamb Center will still close at 3:00 pm.

Public transportation to Westwood Baptist Church is available from Fairfax Blvd. & Spring St. via METRO BUS 1C towards DUNN LORING STATION. Exit at INOVA FAIRFAX HOSPITAL. Depart from FAIRFAX HOSPITAL via CONNECTOR BUS 402 towards FRANCONIA-SPRINGFIELD. Exit at AMHERST AVE AND CUMBERLAND AVE. Board FAIRFAX CONNECTOR BUS 310 towards ROLLING VLY PARK AND RIDE. Exit at OLD KEENE MILL RD AND CARRLEIGHT PKWY. Walk 0.1 miles east to turn right onto Old Keene Mill Rd. Arrive at 8200 Old Keene Mill Rd.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church
6509 Sydenstricker Road, Burke, VA 22015

Van pick-ups to St. Andrew’s will occur in the evenings at 4:30 and 5:30 PM at The Lamb Center 3160 Campbell Dr, Fairfax, VA. To get to the pick-up site from the Fairfax Circle area, walk 0.6 miles. Walk southeast on Blake Ln. towards Sutherland Hill Ct. Turn right onto US-29 S pass by Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers and take a slight right onto Fairfax Blvd. Turn right onto Campbell Dr. The Lamb Center (3160 Campbell Dr.) will be on the left.

Public Transportation to St Andrews Episcopal Church from Fairfax Circle:
There are no quick/direct bus routes that go North to South from Fairfax Circle all the way to Burke.
One of several bus routes is from Arlington Blvd. & Pickett Rd. Board Metrobus 1C towards DUNN LORING STATION Exit at INOVA FAIRFAX HOSPITAL. Depart from FAIRFAX HOSPITAL Board Fairfax Connector Bus 402 towards FRANCONIA-SPRINGFIELD Exit at AMHERST AVE. & CUMBERLAND AVE. Walk about 3 minutes towards Cumberland Ave to Commerce St & Amherst Ave and depart via Fairfax Connector Bus 310 towards ROLLING VLY PARK & RIDE. Exit at Rolling Valley Park & Ride Bay C. Walk about 0.7 miles. Head southeast toward Old Keene Mill Rd. and turn right, turn left onto Sydenstricker Rd. Turn left and keep walking until you can turn right. 6509 Sydenstricker Rd. will be on the right.

2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA 22124

Van pick-ups to UUCF will occur in the evenings starting at 4:30 pm & 5:30 pm at the Lamb Center. Vans will depart UUCF in the morning starting at 6:00 a.m. returning to the Lamb Center.

Public transportation to UUCF is available from Draper Drive at Fairfax Blvd via CUE-GOLD BUS ROUTE 1 towards METRORAIL STATION. Exit at Country Creek at Village Spring Lane. Walk to Country Creek Rd. & Sutton Oaks Lane, board Fairfax Connector Bus 466 towards Oakton, Vienna Metro. Exit at Rt. 123 Chain Bridge Rd. & Palmer St. Walk about 1.0 mile southwest on Chain Bridge Rd. toward Oakton Meadows Ct. Turn right onto Hunter Mill Rd. at traffic circle continue straight to stay on Hunter Mill Rd. Pass The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and 2709 Hunter Mill Rd. will be on the right.

Public transportation to Lord of Life available from Fairfax Blvd. at Campbell Dr. via CUE-GREEN BUS ROUTE 2 towards George Mason University. Exit at UNIVERSITY DR & OCCOQUAN LN. Depart from UNIVERSITY DR. @ AQUIA CREEK LA. via FAIRFAX CONNECTOR BUS 306 towards PENTAGON. Exit at TWINBROOK RD & HEATHWOOD CT. Walk 0.2 miles to 5114 TWINBROOK RD.

Featured Volunteer Opportunity: Homework Help

Do you have a heart for children? Join us at one of our four community centers to help elementary and middle school children with their homework.

Volunteers will support specific groups of elementary or middle school children with all homework duties after school from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. These children are happy to have a volunteer that will help them focus on school and give them the confidence they need to succeed.
