FACETS is gearing up for the Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program, beginning December 1st. Saving lives from the cold and connecting with those most vulnerable in Fairfax County is not possible without your support. This year’s Hypothermia Prevention Shelters will be operated at 31 Church locations in Fairfax County. These sites offer a delicious dinner, a warm place to sleep, resources, professional case management services and breakfast the next morning, helping our neighbors experiencing homelessness find respite from the cold winter nights and a path to a home.

In operation since 2003, the program has evolved from solely offering a safe haven to also offering life-enhancing programs. In the 2017-2018 season, FACETS served 305 guests in our Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program. Many guests engaged in case management services, leading to 38 individuals being rapidly rehoused and not returning to sleeping in the woods, their cars or on the streets at the conclusion of the program.
