Each internship opportunity has an application and interview process. If accepted, interns must pass a background check and complete an orientation and initial training. To be considered for an internship, please contact us at shough@facetscares.org. If you are a course instructor and want to discuss partnering with FACETS for internships or service learning, please contact Suzanne at shough@facetscares.org.

Internships

Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in academic programs like social work, human services, education, psychology, or early childhood development can apply their knowledge from coursework through an internship or practicum experience with FACETS.

Social Work Internships or Practicums

Social work interns may be placed in one of several operational areas such as Permanent Supportive Housing, Clinical Case Management, Homeless Single Adults, Family Teams, Education and Community Development (four locations), or Annandale Opportunity Neighborhoods. Interns are evaluated for placement and will gain relevant skills and practical experience in their assignment.

Other internship opportunities are available in the following areas: nonprofit studies, communications, resource development, marketing, human resources, events, and food insecurity.  We have begun accepting applications for the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 academic year.  If you would like to be considered for placement, please complete the form to share your details.

Service Learning Opportunities

Undergraduate students who need service learning hours as a required part of their coursework have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of course content. For more information on service learning opportunities reach out to shough@facetscares.org.
